The most popular Vanagon camper we see in the US is the standard pop top Westy. The top pops up from the front and provides sleeping quarters upstairs. Some people opt for a high top which gives them standing room at all times. The upside is you always have the space you need. The downside is limited overhead clearance. If you ask me, high tops don’t look as good. If I was living in a Vanagon full time however, I would definitely go for the high top. The extra room up top is worth the sacrifice in aesthetics.
