rover-v8

What happens when you pop a Rover V8 into a Vanagon? You have to do some serious modification to the body. Check out the above photo. This guy had to mod his van to accommodate the large motor. That’s a small price to pay for a V8. Click through to see the engine.

clam-camper

Check out this clam-top camper from the UK. It has more than just the usual accordion-style camper top. This one looks like a full tent upstairs. Because this T25 (Vanagon) is from the UK, the sliding door is on the opposite side of the van. Very cool!

camo-van

This hight top “Camo Vanagon” was restored in 2011. There is not much to say about it other than it came out looking great.

t3-01

Do you think the owner of this T3 Transporter likes semi-trucks? This thing has the exhaust stack that you would find on a semi, along with roof mounted horns and lights. Even the side mirror resembles a semi. The owner has also removed the side gates to turn his truck into a flat bed. There are so many mods to this truck we can’t even mention them all but I’d love to drive this thing for awhile. Click through for another pic.

cabriolet

Just when I think I have seen every crazy Vanagon out there, up pops something I’ve never seen before. This is one of the most unique Vanagon or T3’s I’ve ever seen. It’s a Cabriolet version of the Vanagon. They chopped the roof and created a cabriolet/convertible. Although the interior looks a little plain, the paint job and detail on this thing takes it over the top. I love the clean lines created by the lack of doors or handles. Click through for more pics.

2010

This high top camper looks like it was made in the bid-1980’s. The smaller side windows caught my eye. It’s a bit battered, but still looks good. I wish I had some interior shots of this one.

laminate

This is a nice installation of Allure TrafficMASTER Flooring in the Vanagon. Samba user Christopholi chose the “African Wood” for his van. He filled the floor channels with plywood then installed the laminate over the top of that. It looks great, but he did not use any sound proofing so it’s a bit louder than with his carpet. He did the job for $85. Not bad.

custom-cabinets

This picture has been removed from Rvtec-Camperinteriors.com, but it looks like a nice set of custom interior cabinets. In addition to the closet, this custom installation has shelves in the back. Notice the cabinets are on the right side of the van. I wish I could see more of this van.

reimo-camper

This 1988 VW Reimo high top camper has a lot of room. It looks like one of the tallest high tops I’ve seen. The website says it was purchased in Germany in 2000 for $3000. The interior is average, but this one is ripe for a makeover. Click through for the interior pics.
