Many Vanagons have ladders. Ladders add functionality and character to the Vanagon. Sometimes ladders are mounted on the back hatch, and other times they are mounted on the side. This custom Doka Syncro Camper has a lot going on. Check out the steel roof rack with some kind of heavy duty box on the top. The camper is equip with fold out steps for easy access. There is not much to say about this truck I found on The Samba. The rear rack is awesome. The owner must be a steel worker or something because it looks homemade. I’d love to buy this truck!
If you have a Vanagon Westy you can stop wasting the space over your sink with this hack. Put a cutting board over the sink. Amazon sells the perfect cutting board with a cutout for the faucet. South African VW Van fans are so lucky. VW kept making the Vanagon (aka T3) in South Africa long after the US production was halted. This 1985 camper has one of the oddest rooftops I’ve ever seen. It was for sale recently, and the owner says there is enough room in the van to stand up. He also says the top is removable so you can exchange it for a pop top or rag top. Did he make it himself? Is there a company that was making these in Europe? I have no idea.
These drawers under the rear bed caught my eye. There’s not much to say about them except they add some storage space to your Vanagon. Obviously, if you use the bed a lot this might cause a problem unless you use a mattress topper, but it looks good for every day use.
