In 1986, Holdsworth introduced a new camper model called the VW T25 / T3 Holdsworth Vision. It was based on a Volkswagen factory hightop van, but the interior was quite different. The kitchen and storage lockers were in the back while the main cabin had an unusual setup. There was a fold away room divider between front and rear creating a separate toilet compartment. The next time you want to take a vacation in Spain, you might consider renting this black pearl high top VW T3 Vanagon. I immediately noticed the large VW emblem mounted on the bumper, but this van has a lot to offer. The high top provides loads of space inside, and it’s perfect for tootling around Spain. Do you think the owner of this T3 Transporter likes semi-trucks? This thing has the exhaust stack that you would find on a semi, along with roof mounted horns and lights. Even the side mirror resembles a semi. The owner has also removed the side gates to turn his truck into a flat bed. There are so many mods to this truck we can’t even mention them all but I’d love to drive this thing for awhile. Click through for another pic.
We all want more space in our Vanagons, but we are limited by its size. Check out this extended Vanagon Westy Camper built in 1985. These were customized in Germany in the 1980’s but never made it to the states. It is 70 inches longer than a standard Westy and provides more room for all your goodies. Perhaps this one should be called the “All About the Bass” Westy. Or, as one Samba user put it, “extra butt syncro.” Another pic after the jump.
The Syncromobil is a 1989 Swedish Doka (Vanagon Truck) that has been converted into very nice camper that includes a shower. Samba user volkmar posted pics of his creation. This rugged camper can go just about anywhere and keep you self contained. The camping quarters are not roomy, but include a toilet, shower, table, and cooking facilities. Vanagons are used for so many different tasks. I am always amazed at the way people hack these vans to fit their needs. We have seen a Vanagon dump truck before, but I just ran across a couple more. These dump trucks are rare, but they sure fit the bill if you need a small dump truck. Click through to see another one.
