86-syncro

This 1986 Syncro with a large sun roof has been restored and it looks awesome. The Samba user dibble, posted pictures of his gorgeous Syncro and I’m seriously jealous. He updated the interior to a 1991 Carat interior, and changed the dash and interior from brown to black. When you add the GoWesty bumpers he installed, it looks fantastic. The title of this post says it all. What a perfect way to make use of your rear bumper area when you’re camping in your Vanagon. Enough said!

I love themed vans. This guy, Sim Courtie, has a UK flag themed camper top on his Vanagon. He just happens to be the sam Sim Courtie that took his van on a trip around the world. He actually wrote a book about it entitled The Long and Whining Road. You can purchase the book on Amazon.com if you’re interested. Click through for another pic.

Many Vanagon Westy owners are not satisfied with the door on the rear cabinet. It’s just a little small and doesn’t provide a wide opening for the closet. This Westy owner decided to modify his cabinet himself. He cut a larger hole and installed two sliding door. As you can see, he framed the doors in and it doesn’t look bad at all. If you look closely, you can see he installed two stainless down lights in the rear ceiling. Cool!

spoiler

You can add a nice touch to your Vanagon by adding a rooftop rear spoiler. We have seen various kinds of Vanagon spoilers before, but this is the first time I’ve run across one for sale. The kit comes with the spoiler that is ready to paint, along with 4 fixing screws for the culls. Check out rhoen-bull.de for the particulars.

checkered

What kind of flooring do you have in your Vanagon? You can see how several other Vanagon owners outfitted the rear of their Vanagons with custom flooring. The Samba user, blackglasspirate, chose the checkered tile look. It reminds me of a 1950’s style diner. It’s easy to do and easy to maintain. Great job!

bumperless

Do you notice something special about this Vanagon? That’s right, it has no front bumper. The owner has chosen a body kit over a front bumper. While it might be dangerous, the lines are so smooth. This van has a very nice yellow paint job, and the South African grill with eyebrow looks great. Have you noticed the very small side view mirrors?

What can you say about this dash? The picture speaks for itself. This modified dash is very involved and looks like it took awhile to put it together. Is that a tablet up top, or a monitor for an embedded computer? What about that phone handset? What is that connected to? Check out the gauges just about the shifter. Click through for more.

This Syncro camper has a lot of add ons, but the serious front grill guard caught my eye. Is he mowing down trees or what? The large pipe on top looks so big it could be used to store a tent or some other equipment. The front bumper also has large driving lights that look great. This high top has a sun visor and a sun roof. Who wouldn’t want to drive this beast?

audi-cab

This single cab VW T25 truck has a lot of character. You might say it needs a paint job, but she looks great to me. I love the roof rack for storage and the roll bars in the back. She has an Audi V6 engine in it so she has lots of power. It was recently for sale so someone probably got lucky on this one. Click through for a few more pics.
