army surfer

The picture pretty much says it all about this Syncro. The drab army color and tires scream tough guy, but the coolest thing about this Vanagon is the surfboard hanging off the side. You will also notice semi truck style side view mirrors, a serious roof rack, and large driving lights. I wish I lived in an area where this could be my daily driver.

1991HoldsworthCelebrity1

The Holdsworth campers are so different from the Westys we are used to in the states. It has a more homey feel, and more like a motorhome. Lots of wood and an interesting layout make it quite appealing. Click through to check out this rare interior.

high-top-extended

These stretch Vanagons are quite popular. We have featured several of them before, but this one is the first I’ve seen with a full high top. The only problem is it’s apparently at the beginning stages of the project, OR it was left for dead. It’s still nice to dream!

port-hole-camper

This is a very strange looking pop top camper for a VW Doka. It appears to have 2 port holes on the side of the camper. The caption over at the Samba reads, “VW T3 Doka Road Ranger Camping Aufbau TriStar Syncro Hardtop Alu Koffer Tischer.” The truck looks like it also includes a large roof rack and a sun visor. Click through for a picture of a similar model with the pop top down.

syncro-doka-mods

Is it a rear spoiler or a transport rack? This Syncro Doka has lots of extras, including what looks like a spoiler on the rear bed with brake lights. It could also be used to carry long items, but it sure looks like a spoiler to me. This truck is a double cab, 3-door, Doka with a large front bumper and winch. Click through to see more.

We’ve seen Vanagon ambulances before. This one was used in the Belgian Army, and was recently for sale. Click through for the full description and another pic.

mystery

Several Vanagon owners have created their version of Scooby-Doo’s Mystery Machine. This one looks to be one of the nicer jobs out of the bunch. The Vanagon actually looks like its in almost new condition. It also appears to be in the UK somewhere.

This Syncro has a roof rack built into a full set of roll bars. It even includes a side ladder. She can do a lot of off roading and be assured the passengers are protected. Awesome!

non-westy

This interior looks stock, but is definitely not a Westy. It is very likely a Devon Moonraker interior, but I don’t know for sure. The cabinets look very stock, and it has a mount for a table on the floor. Anyone know who made this interior?

custom-sink-cabinet

Here is another custom cabinet created by a Vanagon owner. This one sits behind the passenger’s seat, and includes a working sink. It looks slightly unfinished, but I’d sure love to have this in my van.
